About this event
In this hands-on workshop, Scott Jennings will share his unique approach to creating handbuilt vessels from slabs of clay that look wheel-thrown—but with added individuality and flair. He’ll demonstrate how to design patterns for each form, apply texture, and use best practices for slab construction. You'll also learn how to create volume by stretching the vessels after assembly. Glazing considerations will be covered as well. Participants will construct mugs and pitchers. Level: This workshop is ideal for students with some prior handbuilding experience. What's included: Firing for 3 pieces per person. Choice of glaze from our curated selection--our staff with glaze the pieces for you. Open studio access for the remainder of the day to finish your work. About Scott Jennings: Scott Jennings is a Bay Area artist who has been working with clay for 30 years.
