About this event

This 3-day workshop will explore the process of creating lidded ceramic vessels on the pottery wheel. Participants will learn techniques for throwing and fitting lids, creating flanges and galleries, trimming and fitting lids, and adding knobs and handles. The workshop will also cover shrinkage, firing considerations, and techniques for achieving a well-fitting lid throughout the firing process. The final day will focus on glazing, including wax resist techniques and different approaches to glazing and decorating lidded forms. With demonstrations and hands-on making time throughout the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create, glaze, and fire up to three jars, with all glazing and firing included. Skill Level: Intermediate wheel throwing Note: There is no open studio access outside of the workshop

Cancellation Policy

Workshop Cancellation & Refund Policy: If you need to cancel your class, you must email info@merrittceramics.com 48 hours in advance to receive a refund minus a $10 transaction fee. After that time there is no refund or rescheduling. Any rescheduling at any time, if available, will cost $10.
