Hump Throwing Ornament Workshop with Cathy Niland

Join us for a two day workshop with Cathy Niland on how to throw off the hump and create beautiful holiday ornaments. This workshop is good for advanced-beginners and intermediate wheel throwers looking to enhance their skills and create something special for the holidays. Day 1: November 9th, 10am-1pm Students will learn the technique of throwing off the hump, a method ideal for producing small forms quickly and efficiently. Day 2: November 10th, 10am-1pm Students will trim and transform their work from Day 1, into unique and decorative ornaments ready to hang for the holidays. Students will get the option to choose from a selection of glazes that they wish their ornaments to be glazed in. All work will be fired and glazed by a staff member of Merritt Ceramics. Work will be ready 2-3 weeks from the date of the workshop. Level: Advanced-beginner & Intermediate. Must be comfortable centering 3lbs of clay.
