Clay Stamp Making

Create your own custom clay stamps in this hands-on workshop! You'll learn the fundamentals of designing and carving durable ceramic stamps, including how to create both raised ("outie") and recessed ("innie") designs, achieve the right amount of detail, and shape comfortable handles for easy use. We'll also explore different types of stamps, from traditional hand stamps to rolling textures, and discuss how each creates a unique impression in clay. Midway through the workshop, we'll take a short break to hunt for interesting textures around the studio and neighborhood, learning how to capture everyday surfaces in clay and transform them into one-of-a-kind texture stamps. You'll leave with a collection of handmade tools that you can use again and again in your own ceramic practice.
