About this event
In this 2-day workshop, Alex will guide you through the process of creating unique ceramic forms by combining wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Participants will explore altering wheel-thrown forms, making handles on the wheel, a unique technique for creating lids, and a few surprises. Each participant will create one lidded jar and one unique vessel while learning new techniques through demonstrations and hands-on exploration. All tools and materials are included. Participants will have the option to have Merritt Ceramics staff glaze their work. Skill Level: Intermediate wheel throwing (Participants must be comfortable throwing a 2 lb cylinder on the wheel) All firings are included. About the Artist Alex Beck creates unique, textured ceramics at Ruby's Clay Studio and Brick & Mortar Studios in San Francisco. He teaches wheel throwing at studios throughout the Bay Area and participates in numerous craft fairs year round.

There is additional parking behind the studio just off of E19th street. If you are parking in the back, please enter the studio from the front entrance located on Park Blvd
Cancellation Policy
One-Time & Workshop Cancellation & Refund Policy: If you need to cancel your class, you must email info@merrittceramics.com 48 hours in advance to receive a refund minus a $10 transaction fee. After that time there is no refund or rescheduling. Any rescheduling at any time, if available, will cost $10.
