Thursday Intro to Handbuilding

Clay creation without the wheel. Learn tools of the trade and all the insider secrets to sculpt almost anything. During this course you will learn the basics of sculpting clay with techniques like coil and slab building. This course is great for those who want to work on both functional ceramics as well as abstract sculptures. This course is especially great for those who love to decorate and embellish their work and will learn all about surface and texture design! Please note this course meets consecutive Thursdays from 6pm-8:30pm for six weeks. Course includes: clay & firing | tools & materials | glazes | Open Studio hours from Tuesday-Sunday, 11am-6pm. Please note that the minimum age to register for this class is 16 years old. Students may not bring guests when attending Outside Studios for the duration of their 6-Week Course. Make up Policy: For any Intro Courses, we do not recommend missing any classes as each week leads to the next. Students will generally fall behind if there are missed classes, so be sure to check your calendar ahead of time! If you need to make up a class, you may sit in on another class (same type of class, ie. Intro to the Wheel) that same week. Same type classes follow the same schedule week to week. If you can’t make up a class that falls within that same week, there are no make ups. If you miss Week 6 for glazing and cannot attend a make up class, students will have to schedule a 1hour private lesson on glazing in order to finish your work.

While we understand the unstable nature of covid and it’s variants, we unfortunately cannot refund you after the start of your course. If there are cancellations after the start of your course due to COVID, we are happy to pre-register you for the following course. No refunds or credit rollovers will be issued.
